A few days ago, the head of AI company Anthropic put out a call for the pace of AI development to be slowed down.

Chief Executive Dario Amondei outlined the serious risks associated with the rapidly evolving technology and laid out a three-point plan that would bring together governments, companies and third-party evaluations.

Rival tech bosses Sam Altman and Elon Musk have agreed with the ideas.

So, what’s driving these concerns and what’s behind this call?
