Madang United Football Club is making its return to the PNG’s 2026 National Premier Soccer League after a six-year hiatus.
The club, now listed among the ten teams participating this season, is both thrilling and demanding as it embarks on a new phase.
Its comeback marks a new beginning for the provincial team, which has been away from the competition for several years.
Head coach Amos Romo expressed his delight to see the team register and ready for participation. He also expressed his appreciation towards the province’s leaders for their support.
“I want to thank Governor Ramsey Pariwa and his board members – their commitment is the reason why this team is back in the competition.”
He acknowledged that being out of the competition for so long was a setback especially for newer participants but after consistent training and assistance from experienced players, he is now confident of the team’s abilities to perform.
“I believe we are ready for our first challenge.”
