Ten vehicles (10) worth about K2.4 million under the Provincial Services Improvement Program (PSIP) arrived in Madang on Tuesday from Lae for the Madang Provincial Police Command.
Madang Provincial Police Commander Superintendent Robert Baim said the vehicles were paid for by the provincial government two years ago, and their arrival was a relief for the command.
“The vehicles were paid for by the provincial government two years ago. Finally, they have been delivered, and this is a relief for us. I would like to thank the provincial government for the much-needed support,” Baim said.
Baim said the vehicles would be distributed fairly across the districts to strengthen police operations and improve officers’ ability to respond to incidents.
He also called on district MPs to provide at least one vehicle each to support police operations in their respective districts.
